Steven Spazuk
1. Steven Spazuk is a artist from Canada who has mastered the technique of fumage which is using a kerosene lamp or candle to make smoke impressions.
2. I found Steven Spazuck in a article by Buzzfeed http://www.buzzfeed.com/alisoncaporimo/fire-art-ftw#.iaj7WP93https://vimeo.com/107263462

6. Spazuk's art gives off a mysterious puzzling mood and feeling towards its viewers that is very hard to to find in other artists' work.
7. Some of his art has addressed issues such as awareness to nature and the population decline of birds. What Spazuk wants is for every individual to perceive his artwork in their own perspective because we are all part of a community.
8. Steven Spazuk has a unique technique that is quite mesmerizing to watch and his artwork has intricate details and fluidity that can't be created with just pencil. His artwork is worth sharing because it's remarkable and everyone should have the chance to experience and perceive it.
Spontaneity and chance are the heart and soul of his creative process. He does not censor. He does not direct. Spazuk opens himself to the experience. This in-the-moment creative practice coupled with the fluidity of the soot, creates a torrent of images, shadows and light. Fuelled by the quest of a perfect shape that has yet to materialize, he concentrate in a meditative act and surrender to capture the immediacy of the moment on canvas.
The human body fascinates him. Bodies in a perpetual metamorphosis are the language with which he express his thoughts on the human condition: emotions, opinions, stories that are born of his uncensored psyche. Spazuk often works piece by piece, collecting a multitude of unique elements that he assembles into mosaics. Entities that, once grouped together, afford a different meaning and provide a new perspective that is both novel and complementary. He sees fragments of things, events, people, as a powerful metaphor of modern life and, even more so, of the way we perceive things through our senses and our minds. His work expresses how every one of us is a constituent fragment of the huma

- I found this artist on tumblr, the blogging website.
- The subject matter is usually strange patterns.
- His choice of emphasis for element of art is color, he has a very wide spectrum of color in his art.
- As for principle's of design he tends to use movement, emphasis, unity, and pattern in most, if not all, of his art.
- His art portrays a mood of calmness, or maybe even possibly a happy vibe, but I feel more calm than anything when I look at it and try to understand the feeling it gives off.
- The artwork is considered psychadelic art, it is usually just patterns or spirals. Although, He has some art that portrays animals or weird creatures, like the one below.
- This artist is worth sharing because you do not see psychadelic art like this very often, at least I am not used to it. I think it is very interesting to look at, and the color schemes he uses work extremely well together.

a. This is her Art instagram
b. This is her art tag on tumblr
3. She does not limit herself in any particular media, though enjoys doing digital and mixed media paintings
4. Laia puts an emphasize on color, texture, and shapes. All her pieces have heavy saturated color and have an even flow to them.
5. She also uses a lot of contrast if her piece has a background, in addition to contrast, she uses a fair amount of movement. This helps the piece seems 3 dimensional and more "alive".
6. Each piece has a specific mood, depending on the characters in the piece. But an overall theme is very light and cheerful
7. The subject of the work are mostly of pop culture (bands, actors, tv/book characters, ect), Laia have very few original characters.
8.I feel like Laia's work is worth showing because the amount of time and detail she puts into each of her pieces. She taught herself in the beginning and now is studying art and animation at her local university in Barcelona,Spain. Laia hopes to make a career out of art and possibly working for Disney. She encourages other up-and-coming to never give up on their creative endeavors.
